Wat is het Vredes Groeitapijt?
Het Vredes Groeitapijt bestaat uit allemaal lapjes waarop mensen een afbeelding hebben gemaakt rondom het thema vrede. Alle vredeslapjes worden aan elkaar gezet tot een loper. Het tapijt groeit tot 2012 door en is nu al zo’n 33 meter!!
Rond het jaar 2012 zal het Vredes Groeitapijt verkocht worden en de opbrengst zal ten goede komen van War Child. Zij zullen een aantal stukken van het Vredes Groeitapijt meenemen naar gebieden waar ze met kinderen werken die kindersoldaten waren. Tot 2012 kan je jouw lapje bewonderen in de Vredesweek, dus hou de agenda in de gaten.
Is jouw lapje al verwerkt in het Vredes Groeitapijt? Nee..?? Dan snel aan de slag!
Hoe doe je mee?
Maak op een stevig lapje, geen rekbare stof, van 25 bij 25 cm een afbeelding rondom het thema Vrede van 20 bij 20 cm. Je kan op de lapjes tekst schrijven, plakken, tekenen, schilderen, borduren, kortom; laat je creativiteit de vrije loop! Stuur vervolgens je vredeslapje naar:

What is the Growing-Carpet for Peace?
Looking for a project to do with your Peace Pals? Why not contribute to the "Growing-Carpet for Peace" from the Netherlands. This project continues until the Peace Week in 2012 and, for it to succeed, it needs your help. "As many beads on a necklace, so will your patch, together with many others, form an immense carpet for Peace!"
Destination of the carpet: we will sell the Growing-Peace Carpet arround the year 2012 for War Child! War Child will use some parts of the carpet for there own projects. How can this project succeed ? See to it that it becomes truth, send us your result, and make the presentations successful with your presence.
We have received the first patches that makes the peace carpet 33 meters long!!
What you will need to do?
Take a piece of strong, walk able fabric, from 25 cm to 25 cm (10 to 10 inch) and make sure the borders please cannot ravel out. Decorate square with a pattern, scene or symbol that expresses your vision of peace. Either by (needlecraft, painting or any other way you like. What comes in the first place is its signification, not the beauty or perfectness of your patchwork. Send completed square's to:
